Basement
The journey begins on the first floor in the old stables and byres, where we can
see a video of introduction. This video, quite short, gives us an eye witness account
by the local people, of the different uses of the domestic spaces. The words of the
informants guide us through the rooms and passages. They, like a living testament,
are the best way for us to hear about the past.

In this first
space, made up of the grain stores, the preserves in the food stores and the wine
barrels amongst others; we can introduce the visitor into the traditional world of
agricultural economy.
The cereal culture, the food diet and the conservation of food are some of the subjects
to be worked on. We also find a thousand details that awaken our curiosity; the mobile
cat door, the mouse-traps, the inventions so as not to loose a single grain of corn. |
